Chas. E. George & Sons Ltd has its roots in the early 20th century, beginning in 1907 with a vision to provide Valuation and Adjustment services to the construction industry. Charles E. George, alongside his sons Christopher and William, established the firm in an office on Filleul Street, Dunedin.

In those early days, our focus was on preparing detailed Schedules of Quantities for local contractors, a vital service that laid the foundation for our growth. The business quickly earned a reputation for precision and reliability, which led to an expanding client base across the South Island, reaching even the lower North Island and the Pacific Islands.

Our inaugural project, a Manure Store for Wright Stevenson & Co., was completed in 1907. Built by George Simpson & Co. Builders for £3,000, this project not only marked the beginning of our journey but also set the standard for the quality and dedication that would become synonymous with our name. Remarkably, a portion of this original structure still stands today behind the Golf Warehouse on Vogel Street, Dunedin, serving as a testament to our long-standing presence in the region.

As our practice evolved, so did our scope of work. From these initial projects, we expanded into construction cost management, reflecting the growth of both our expertise and the industry.
